LUNA Mexican Kitchen is one of the restaurants selected for inclusion as Bib Gourmand establishments in the first edition of the 2019 Michelin Guide California.
A fresh, authentic Mexican restaurant offering a focus on ingredients, LUNA Mexican Kitchen is located at 1495 The Alameda in San Jose's Alameda neighborhood. We focus on sustainable and clean ingredients in our seasonal specials.
In Spanish, Luna means moon, but it also stands for Local Unrefined Natural Authentic. They earned their Bib Gourmand award due to their commitment to locally sourced ingredients and hand-crafted recipes.

As a recipient of a Bib Gourmand award, LUNA Mexican Kitchen joins two other regional South Bay restaurants. Also receiving the Michelin designation are Orchard City Kitchen in Campbell and The Bywater in Los Gatos.
As of September 6, LUNA Mexican Kitchen is one of the 151 restaurants in California to earn the Bib Gourmand award. Since 1997, the Bib Gourmand category highlights restaurants that offer high-quality meals for less than $40 including two courses and a glass of wine or dessert. Additionally to the star-awarded establishments, Michelin inspectors search for hidden gems to complete its selection of more readily accessible restaurants.

In the 2019 MICHELIN Guide California, the entire listing, including the Michelin stars, will be revealed on June 3 and available to the public on June 6.
